I’m increasingly interested in work that is largely intuitive, leaving room for the image to evolve from a mood and my imagination. Whether my artwork is realistic, whimsical, conceptual, or pure abstract all engage in some kind of story. At times a visual narrative can be aesthetically pleasing while unnerving such as in “Nature Re-patterned.” Is the piece clean or dirty, light or heavy? Do I want to look at it some more or walk away? At other times the scenario engages our senses: the sound made when wind brushes the cellophane wrapped blooms in an open air market or we feel it beat the rain down on our umbrella and make us imagine that pigs can fly.
